Join OPC on September 16 and 17, 2011 for a Workshop on The Neuroscience of Psychotherapy: The Regulation of Affect and the Development of Consciousness and its relationship to Brain Development and the Cellular Body.

In addition to the core curriculum of the Ontario Psychotherapy Training and Counseling Certificate Program, OPC offers workshops and seminars of interest to professionals in the mental health and wellness community.

Join us for this 14-hour workshop exploring neuroscience and psychotherapy:

  • A history of affect regulation within Object Relations in the five psychoanalytic movements and their connection with neuroscience
  • What is neuroplasticity?
  • John Bowlby: Attachment Theory
  • The neurobiology of attachment and the development of consciousness
  • The HPA Axis, CRF and ACTH factor and its relationship to trauma
  • The cellular chemical system and intercellular communications
  • Neuroscience applied to both theory and practice of psychotherapy
